Design Process

"We count on the CMA, because they thoroughly understand our needs and deliver high quality results."

  • Jason Flick,
  • President, Flick Software

User-centered design (UCD) is an approach to design and development projects that relies on feedback from actual users of a product. An international standard (ISO 13407) describes a general process for UCD, which includes four main tasks:
1. Identify the user group and the environment of use,
2. Identify user requirements (conditions for successful usage of the product),
3. Create designs (including prototypes at various levels of fidelity, depending on complexity of the product), and
4. Evaluate designs throughout their conceptualization and creation (including prototype testing and comprehensive analysis of the final design).

The CMA is committed to a rigorous UCD process for our design activities because it leads to more usable and pleasing designs, more satisfied and better performing users, and greater return on investment.

To find out how a UCD process might improve the measurable outcomes for your project, please contact us for a consultation.
