“I have broadened my view of writing and communication through my internship experiences—for example, conducting usability tests on exciting research projects like the FIT’s Intelligent Kiosk.”

(Sarah Craig, MA student in English)

The CMA is partnering with the College of Communication and Fine Arts to establish a new undergraduate program titled Communication, Art and Technology (CAT). The curriculum will be comprised of courses from across the University. The CMA’s specific contribution will be in course work for human factors instruction, which emphasizes user needs and preferences as the basis for design decision-making. The Center will construct a new usability lab in 07/08 to facilitate both teaching and research.
